La Cala Europa
The third of the championship 18 hole golf courses in La Cala Golf Resort, La Cala Europa is a par 71 course opened in March '05. It covers 100 hectares of land and measures 6014m in length. In keeping with the other two courses, it was also designed by Cabell. B. Robinson who used the natural meanderings of the idyllic Ojen river with great success to interact with eight of the courses holes across three fairways.
At one point players can cross the river over an impressive 45m span bridge and there are four other smaller bridges along its banks around the course. It has a dramatic feel with four large tunnels used for golf carts and machinery also linking players to various areas.

With larger greens and fairways that are generous from the tees, La Cala Europa is an easier option for the average golfer. Two interesting holes deserving a mention are the 14th, which is at the maximum limit for a par 3 shot, at 220m and the 18th, which is one of the widest holes in Europe at 108m.

Great care was taken in the construction of this course to not only preserve the exisitng natural and native trees but to plant an additional 300 Cork Oak, Eucalyptus, Olive, Almond and Carob trees in groves along with another 1500 shrubs comprising mainly of Lavendar, Rockrose, Rosemany and Palmettos, to enhance the courses gently contoured natural beauty.
Buggies and clubs can be rented at the Clubhouse and players can also enjoy the driving range, putting and chipping greens, professional tuition at the David Leadbetter Golfing Academy and luxurious changing and showering facilities. There are two top class restaurants on the resort where you can relax and sample a range of local and international culinary delights.
