La Cala North (Campo America)
This 18 hole North course, at La Cala de Mijas is also known as Campo America and was designed by Cabell. B. Robinson and built a short time after the South course. It is some 250m longer, with wide fairways sporting fewer bunkers than the South course, many of which are joined but also inclined and have wide roughs, making it an easier driving course but one of the most demanding overall on the Costa.
It is an open parkland type course, located in mountainous and uneven terrain, which makes it suitable for top competition. Water does not feature as much as grunkle covered side slopes, which pose an equally interesting challenge. Campo America does demand accuracy, as almost three quarters of its greens are elevated to keep the player focused.

This beautifully laid out par 73 course which tests many aspects of a players game and techniques starts with three flat holes and goes on to include five x par 5's, a narrow par 3, a difficult uphill index x 1, a par three over the lake, and the final shot at the 18th runs downhill...plenty to amuse the most proficient of golfers.

The tees are varied on each hole, offering different angles for the drive, which simplifies matters to a certain extent, though you won't be able to let your mind wander too far off your game on this motivating course. Buggies, hand carts and clubs can all be rented at the Clubhouse and facilities include a driving range, a putting and chipping green, tuition at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy, squash, table tennis, fitness club and football pitch as well as luxurious changing and showering facilities.
The extremely high level of service and standards, covering every aspect of your golfing holiday coupled with the spectacular views and natural surroundings that La Cala Resort encapsulates has ensured its success as the largest golf resort on the Costa del Sol.
