Marbella Resort
Situated in the peaceful surroundings of Benahavis, the “Golden Mile” of Marbella, you will find the select Marbella Club Golf Resort. This regal estate, overlooking its lush tropical gardens, with views of Gibraltar, Africa and the Mediterranean was formerly private residence of Prince Alfonso Van Hohenlohe and retains all its splendid original character.
It is a hidden gem and one of the world's leading small hotels and spas, featuring in many international Travel and Leisure guides. Facilities include The Thalasso Spa, The Tropical Beach Club and the Puente Romano Fitness Center.
The 18 hole par 70 course, designed by David Thomas ranks amongst the finest in Spain and is 20 minutes drive from the hotel. You can leave your car at the hotel parking and take the complimentary shuttle bus directly to the course. The Club is exclusively for guests who enjoy more than adequate time between tee offs which in turn guarantees uncrowded, unhurried play. There is a required handicap of 36 for ladies and 28 for gentlemen.
The first three holes are consecutive par 5's, the 1st is a blind tee to a narrow fairway, the second is a short par 3 across a wooded ravine, from the 6th the views across the Mediterranean are spectacular. It is a tight course of holes cut between man made rolling hills and bunkers, thoughtfully constructed with waterfalls and lakes, to a standard that will please the best of golfers. The computerized irrigation system ensures impeccable playing conditions all year around.
Lessons are available with In House British PGA Pro Gary Vautier, who has over 20 years experience teaching all levels of players. He focuses on the fundamentals of posture, alignment, stance and grip.
Facilities at the golf course include club, trolley, electric trolley and buggy hire as well as a driving range.
